Bis eben gerade wusste ich nicht, wer ASAP Rocky ist. Nachdem ich mir jetzt das Video zum Song “Wassup” angeschaut habe, muss ich sagen, ich hätte ihn nicht vermisst. Immerhin scheint er sich selber nicht ganz so ernst zu nehmen.
Harlem rap sensation A.$.A.P Rocky teamed up with VICE to create a video inspired by Scarface, Belly, Enter The Dragon, The Warriors and Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory.
The result is a video that follows A.$.A.P Rocky through a dreamy fantasy world filled with 40s, Ferari’s, homies and hoards of cash.
Und tatsächlich trumpft das Video mit derartig vielen prallen Frauenärschen, dicken Klunkern und schnellen Autos auf, dass der Protagonist wie eine Karikatur seiner selbst wirkt.
Mein erstes Fazit lautet daher: Musikalisch absolut austauschbar und belanglos und dennoch zumindest sehenswert.
